1) Band practice times are now due every week. This is the last week I will collect for the quarter. Please get all sheets in.
2) Assignments and announcements can be found both on webgrader and blackboard for 6th and 7/8 band.
3) All students need to have their horn, sticks/mallets, and all materials at rehearsals. 6th grade band students should have Accent on Achievement Book 2 by Monday the 14th.
4) 7th and 8th concert Monday: Great job everyone!!! …especially the orchestra that had to deal with a different conductor.
5) I will start talking about solo contest this week and immediately after we get back in January. The date is the same that is on the calendar, but the host school changed it again back to the date of the musical at the last minute. That is too early and impossible for us to do. Therefore, we will have our own at Metcalf. I hope more will participated because it is local.
5) The first jazz band meeting will be Wednesday, December 16th at 7:30 am. All students interested need to come to that meeting or talk to me in advance. All instruments are accepted except if I have too many rhythm section players. That might be auditioned and grade seniority will apply.
