I have an M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. from Vassar College.  I joined the ISU faculty in 2008 as Assistant Professor, where I teach courses on Latin American literature and culture, and am affiliated faculty in the interdisciplinary programs in Latin American and Latino Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies.


I live in Bloomington, Illinois with my spouse Alejandro, our two boys, Alejo and Javier, and our cats, Emmy Lou and Rocky.
