FIRST QUARTER |

| CLASS ATTENDANCE & PROMPTNESS | 200 Points |
| CHOREOGRAPHY/"The Games People Play" | 100 Points |
| MODERN DANCE SKILLS TESTS (3 @ 50pts) | 150 Points |
| *WRITTEN PERFORMANCE CRITIQUE | 50 Points |

*We will view a video tape of professional dance this quarter to discuss and
gain exposure to choreographic work you may not have seen before. One of
the works you will view I will assign as the work you will write your first
Written Performance Critique on for this quarter.
**The I.S.U. Dance Program may be offering master classes this semester -each of you may attend one these classes for extra credit ...Information will be forthcoming! Attending more than one concert and writing a "written performance critique" is always accepted for extra credit as well.

*While there will be a number of dance concerts to few throughout the state this quarter, I would like to encourage you to all attend the November 19-21st evening performances of Illinois State Dance Theatre. ISDT will be collaborating with the ISU Orchestra Ensemble in each of the works performed this fall making for a wonderful evening of music and dance in the Center for the Performing Arts. Call the School of Theatre box office to reserve your tickets at 438-2535. You should plan to attend this concert and write your Written Performance Critique to fulfill your written assignment for this semester or use it for extra credit...
*Please also consider dance performances offered in the community at the Bloomington's new Center for the Performing Arts as they become available. Go to http://www.cityblm.org/bcd/page.asp?id=9732&show=main to view specific information regarding this special performance or call 454-2787. You may also want to attend one of the many Nutcracker performances offered during this quarter or even make a trip to Krannert Center in Champaign/Urbana or a dance event in Chicago. Make plans and CLEAR YOUR CALENDARS to attend one of these live dance concerts as a video taped viewing will not be acceptable.

The BCPA and UHS's Orchesis have made arrangements
to offer YOU a special master class with this company earlier in the day on the
