MAT 389.61    INTRODUCTION TO QUANTUM COMPUTING   2   U

      Prerequisite:  C or better in MAT 175 and Math 147.
Topics from linear algebra, logic, classical computing and applications, principles of quantum mechanics, quantum computing.

     Summer course; must audit!


MAT 389.60 INTRODUCTION TO TOPOLOGY AND DIFFERENTIAL GEOMETRY         3 sem. hrs.  

 MAT 340 or MAT 236 or MAT 337, or  cons inst req.
An introduction to topology, including graphs, knots, links and surfaces and geometry, including the differential geometry of surfaces. Applications to sciences will be considered.

          Spring 2008



MAT 411    TOPICS IN MATHEMATICS   3  sem. hrs.

Prerequisite:  C or better in MAT 336 or MAT 337 or MAT 347, or senior status and consent of instructor.
Advanced topics in mathematics (Category theory, automata and formal languages,  functional analysis, complex analysis, differential topology and differential geometry, Lie groups and dynamical systems etc.).
Applications to sciences will be considered.
