"Send the Light is entertaining and educational.  It takes us back to the mid to late thirties when most electric cooperatives were being organized.  The actors make us feel like we are experiencing what the early pioneers felt and why they were so willing to take the risk to form the electric cooperatives as we know them today.  Congratulations to Don Shandrow and his cast."

In May of 1936 R.E.A. legislation was enacted by the Roosevelt congress in order to bring electricity to the ninety percent of the country's rural population.

SEND THE LIGHT tells the story of just a few of these people. These are the voices of citizens brought out of the 19th Century into an era of unprecedented change in the first half of the 20th Century.
