--------- March 21, 2003 5:30 p.m. --------- Packets to be delivered Hi again everyone Well, I didn't get the next reading packet to Rapid Print as I had promised -- I just couldn't find one of the articles, to my great frustration. Therefore, I will make the copies myself and put your packets in your campus mailboxes sometime Saturday. I am sorry for the delay and the hassle! See ya Patrick --------- March 20, 2003 5:30 p.m. --------- Term Paper details posted Hi Everyone I've posted the list of topics and some of the details about the term paper -- it's all under an updated Term Paper link, above. I'm hoping to have the rest of the reading packet at Rapid Print by Friday afternoon, with some luck! Thanks Patrick
--------- February 24, 2003 5:30 p.m. --------- Substutute reading available Hi Everyone, We will read the Meyrowitz chapter ("The Life and Death of Media Friends") in place of the Rubin & McHugh reading that was listed on the original schedule. Jen will be abstracting it. I've put copies in GA's mailboxes and have two copies in the envelope on my office door for Amanda and Deanna to pick up. Also, in case you haven't picked it up, the next packet is waiting at Rapid Print for you all. See you Wednesday! Patrick --------- February 20, 2003 6 p.m. --------- Check out Reflections online! Hi everyone -- Not too much need for updates here, apparently! Anyway, I've been updating both the reader with abstracts (both individually for each reading and collectively on a word document) as I get them. Also, when people have emailed me their reflection papers I've been posting them as well. Check them out, some thoughtful and stimulating ideas in them. I also want to express my pleasure at the quality of the seminar discussions. It's apparent to me that everyone is coming prepared (reading and thinking about the materials) and that you've been willing to share your thoughts and ideas, even if they are tentative or exploratory. Everyone is contributing in thoughful and constructive ways, even when we don't necessarily agree with one another. I think the quality of our discussions are impressive, and you all should be proud of yourselves. I think you all are also appreciating each other's contributions as well. I always look forward to Wednesday nights! See ya - Patrick --------- January 16, 2003 6 p.m. --------- Readings for next week available, abstract guidelines posted Hi Folks! You can pick up the three articles scheduled for next week anytime Friday (1/27) at Rapid Print, which is in the basement of DeGarmo Hall (just to the north of Fell Hall). I think they might close before 5 on Friday so check their hours if you might be there later in the day. I hope to have most or all of the rest of the readings to Rapid Print in the next couple of days and will advise you when that packet would be ready to pick up. Also note that I've posted guidelines for your article abstracts. It is linked to the syllabus under the Assignments section, and you can also find them by clicking here. I've also updated the calendar with abstract assignments and snacks assignments - -let me know if something needs revising. Don't forget to email me responses to the profile questions so I can build the Classmates Page. See you next week! Patrick --------- January 15, 2003 6 p.m. --------- Check here for course-related news! Hi there everyone, Here is where you will find the details of reminders, updates, changes, suggestions, etc. related to Comm 482. I'll be posting them in reverse chronological order so that the latest news will always be at the top. As new news is added, the old ones will still remain here should you find a need for any of them later on in the course. Check here each time you log onto the website -- and don't forget to press the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on your browser to make sure you have the latest version of the page! See ya Patrick |
