RJ's Physics Page

Update: 18 August 08

School is back in session! That means new things will be be going up on the notes page. Maybe I'll finish some old stuff too.

Update: 10 July 08

If you are running OS X, download my newest application here. You'll laugh. The code was all stolen from here, and the icon was stolen from here.
One of my reasons for wanting to learn POV-RAY was for scientific visualization. A random whim caused me to google around for POV-RAY and some keywords for a project I'm working on, and I came across this site. I rendered his code without modification and here is the result.

Update: 10 June 08

I've added my PGP key here, and the link will be static at the bottom of the main page. Maybe all of the pages in the near future. Use it! If you don't know anything about PGP you should take some time and learn about it. If you don't encrypt anything, you should at least learn how to sign messages and verify signatures. If you are a Mac user, like I am, check out the OS X version. Happy encrypting!

Update: 9 June 08

During my never ending quest to never finish anything, I started working on POV-RAY graphics. Here is my first bit of POV-RAY code. The documentation for the code can be found here. The rendered image looks like this. Happy raytracing!

Update: 8 June 08

I was messing around with Xcode and Package Maker today. The result is this very simple application. I am also working on learning Objective-C, so this very simple application was also a learning experience in Objective-C. This Youtuber did a video tutorial, so the application is really his. In the installer I added the Apache License, but I don't think it's actually licensable code. Regardless I am adding this archive of all of the files used to create the application. I'll create a tutorial on the process as soon as I have a more useful application to use as a base for the tutorial. Happy Xcodeing!

Update: 5 June 08

I dropped in an update to the notes page. I added another work in progress, this time based on my discrete mathematics course. Happy proving!

Update: 9 May 08

Life always gets in the way, doesn't it? Well, weeks of school, work and life have taken priority over updates to the website some of that has subsided, and now it is time to try to get caught up.

After a major loss of backup data, I have to recreate a lot of information that was planned as content for this site. Not the least of which was major additions to the code section of the site.

Look for the major additions to show up on the notes page, and the code page as I recreate the lost information over the next few weeks.

I hope everyone's summer is going well. I'll talk to you all soon.

Update: 15 March 08

I've added a private code section for code that I am working with in various courses. You do need a password to access this information. The extra security is in place to “ensure academic honesty”. In other words I don't want my professors accusing me of cheating by publishing my source. If you have need for basic scientific simulation source code for one of your projects email me for access.

Update: 1 March 08

I've added several pages including the Code and Notes pages. Some good information on LaTex is on the Code page. The Notes page has notes on course work. Those notes will develop as I complete course work. Look for updates in both sections.

I'm working on security and quality markup.
Hopefully with strong markup and security as the foundation of the site, I will learn a lot more and the site will be easier to maintain and expand. Look here for updates.
